Industrial Borescopes — Professional Inspection Cameras | Ralcam

Inspection without disassembly. Ralcam industrial borescopes put an HD camera inside castings, weld joints, hydraulic lines, and machine housings — so equipment gets assessed in place, on a maintenance window rather than a teardown.

Industrial and Maintenance Inspection

The economics of industrial inspection are simple: opening a machine costs downtime, and downtime costs more than the tool. A borescope turns a two-hour strip-down into a five-minute look, which means inspections actually get done on schedule instead of being deferred until something fails.

Typical applications

Weld root and seam inspection, porosity and inclusion checks in castings, hydraulic and pneumatic line contamination, gearbox and bearing housing wear, heat exchanger tube fouling, and general NDT visual inspection where a finding has to be recorded rather than described.

Specification

Camera diameters from 3.9 mm to 8.5 mm on semi-rigid, flexible, and rigid cables of 1 m, 2 m, and 3 m, with custom lengths available on selected models. Built-in HD displays from 3.5" to 5" IPS, TF card recording for inspection records, IP67 sealing against oil, coolant, and washdown, and adjustable LED illumination.

Choosing steering

4-way articulation is the right call for methodical sweeps and anything that has to be documented to a standard. 2-way models cover routine condition checks at lower cost. For fluorescent dye and crack work, see UV borescopes.

Choosing the Right Borescope

Which Ralcam borescope suits industrial NDT or QC inspection?

For professional NDT and quality control, choose a 4-way articulating scope with a larger HD screen and interchangeable or long-reach probes — the M506 modular system and the M6X (5-inch IPS) are built for this, and the M608U adds UV for crack and weld-defect detection.

Can I capture documentation for inspection reports?

Yes. All screen models record photos and video to a TF card, so you can document defects for QC reports and export them afterward. Choose a fine probe with steady articulation so you can frame the same defect consistently across inspections.

What probe diameter and cable should I choose for industrial use?

Match the probe to your smallest access port — 6.2mm is the versatile standard, 3.9–5.5mm for fine bores, 8.5mm for a brighter wide view. Use semi-rigid cable to hold a shaped path, or a modular system like the M506 so one tool covers several jobs.

FAQ

What is a borescope and what is it used for?

A borescope is an inspection camera designed to access hard-to-reach areas. It is widely used for automotive diagnostics, pipe inspection, HVAC maintenance, and industrial applications.

How do I choose the right borescope?

Choosing the right borescope depends on your needs. Key factors include probe diameter, cable length, articulation (2-way or 4-way), and whether you need a standalone screen or smartphone connection.

What industries are your inspection cameras suitable for?

Our borescopes are used across multiple industries, including:

  • Automotive repair
  • Plumbing and drainage
  • HVAC inspection
  • Construction and maintenance
  • Industrial equipment inspection
How long does the battery last?

Battery life depends on the model, but most standalone borescopes provide 3–5 hours of continuous use on a full charge.

Which borescope is best for beginners?

For beginners, we recommend starting with a model that has a built-in screen and simple controls. These models do not require additional setup and are easier to operate.
