The Lightest Way to Get a Camera In There

A phone-connected probe is the smallest, cheapest, and most packable option in the range — a probe, a cable, and a connector. It is the right choice when you already carry a phone to every job, when you need something that lives in a glovebox, or when you are buying your first inspection camera and would rather not pay for a screen.

Connection and compatibility

Connects over USB-C or Lightning to iPhone and most Android phones. Wired means it works the moment it is plugged in — no Bluetooth handshake, no Wi-Fi hotspot competing with the building's, no lag between moving the tip and seeing it move.

Sizing

Camera diameters of 5.5 mm, 6.2 mm, and 8.5 mm on 1 m to 3 m cables in flexible, semi-rigid, and rigid form. Both 2-way and 4-way articulating probes are available. All IP67 rated with adjustable LEDs.

When to choose a screen instead

If you work in wet conditions, wear gloves, or need to record evidence without tying up your phone, a borescope with a built-in screen is the more practical tool.

Choosing the Right Borescope

Does it work with my iPhone and Android?

Yes. Ralcam phone-connected borescopes support both iPhone and Android, and both USB-C and Lightning cables are included in the box — so you don't need to pick a connector when ordering. Just use the cable that matches your phone.

Do I need to install an app, and is it free?

You use a free companion app to show the live image and record photos and video — no account needed. These models connect by direct cable, so there's no Wi-Fi pairing. The app name and download link are in each product's manual and page.

Phone-connected or built-in screen — which should I choose?

Phone-connected scopes (F408A, H406A, C106) are lighter and cheaper and use your phone's large screen. Built-in-screen models don't drain your phone, work where you'd rather not expose it, and start instantly. If you already carry your phone everywhere, phone-connected is the value pick.

USB-C or Lightning — which connector do I need?

You don't need to choose — both USB-C and Lightning cables are included in the box, so the scope works with virtually any iPhone or Android phone out of the box. Just connect the cable that matches your phone.

FAQ

What is a borescope and what is it used for?

A borescope is an inspection camera designed to access hard-to-reach areas. It is widely used for automotive diagnostics, pipe inspection, HVAC maintenance, and industrial applications.

How do I choose the right borescope?

Choosing the right borescope depends on your needs. Key factors include probe diameter, cable length, articulation (2-way or 4-way), and whether you need a standalone screen or smartphone connection.

What industries are your inspection cameras suitable for?

Our borescopes are used across multiple industries, including:

  • Automotive repair
  • Plumbing and drainage
  • HVAC inspection
  • Construction and maintenance
  • Industrial equipment inspection
How long does the battery last?

Battery life depends on the model, but most standalone borescopes provide 3–5 hours of continuous use on a full charge.

Which borescope is best for beginners?

For beginners, we recommend starting with a model that has a built-in screen and simple controls. These models do not require additional setup and are easier to operate.
